But then again, what could? That’s a real dilemma authors face and I do sympathize but as a reader, I often just want a book as awesome as the first. My feelings were very mixed about that book and while I thought it was a good read, I wasn’t convinced it lived up to the promise of LAWKI. You later wrote a companion book to LAWKI, the dead & the gone. And believe me, I was completely ecstastic when many award-giving people agreed with me.

I fell in love with that book and sang its praises to anyone who’d listen.

I was first introduced to your work when someone gave me Life As We Knew It as a Christmas present. While I do think it’s more suited to certain genres than others (I’m afraid I’ve yet to really fall in love with a post-apocalyptic romance), post-apocalyptic young adult fiction is one subgenre I have yet to get tired of. I’ve made no secret of the fact that I love post-apocalyptic novels.

Jia B+ Reviews post-apocalyptic / survival / Young-Adult 9 Comments But in this book, if all of them died I would have said, well, its really the best outcome for all of them.MaREVIEW: This World We Live In by Susan Beth Pfeffer I am a person whom buys books based on great stores with the same people in them. I"m not going to buy the next book because I don't care about the people in them anymore. I'm not going to compare readers because that isn't fair but Susan if your reading this please use Robertson Dean in the future. The words were there but the voice was empty. The sadness of the words did not come across in the reading. Yes, its supposed to be a teenage girl but not to the point where every world scream drama and happiness.

I listen to a lot of doom and gloom books but the person reading the book was so happy. With the book of the The Dead and the Gone (first book) you could close your eyes and see and smell New York City and being from PA myself she didn't cover the layout of the town, the once population, connected cities, populations, even what was on the radio? A book isn't about the people in it but about where they are and when. The people in the cast of this book were detailed but the surrounding were not. It was not interesting, I sat and listened to this in several sittings. It was hard for me to pay attention to This world we live in.
